Default Who makes this reel???

Who makes the Cabela's Tournament ZX baitcaster? I have read that Daiwa and Abu makes a lot of their reels.

I am pretty sure this reel is NOT a Daiwa. I know Diawa makes most of Cabela's reels, but I don't think this is a Daiwa.

For one, Daiwa tends to build reels of existing platforms, especially for house brand reels. For example, Cabela's Prodigy was built off the Daiwa Tierra/Advantage/Alphas 150 platform. Also, the new Prodigy reel is based off the Exceler/Aggrest platform (the same platform the TD Pro for BPS was built on). The Tourney ZX is unlike any of the reels in Daiwa's line up.

Secondly, the knobs are not Daiwa knobs. There are two main knob shapes they use, that isn't one of them.

Third, the handle is swept, or recurvded as some brands call it. Daiwa uses the term "Swept Handle." The description for this reel uses the term "swept-shaped handle" This leads me to believe it's not a Daiwa because if it was, they would be allowed to use Daiwa's terminology.

Finally, the mag brake dial isn't like anything I've seen on a Daiwa reel. Daiwa's are normally smaller and are labelled on the dial, not around it on the side plate. Ok, one last thing, the lines and shape of the reel just don't say Daiwa to me.

In fact, it looks much more like a Pinnacle. The knobs, brake dial, and lines all look like a Gander Mtn. brand reel I had that was a pinnacle. And after reading some reviews, these reels are having some of the same problems my cheapo pinnacle from Gander Mtn had. So I'd guess Pinnacle, and I'd also stay away from it. I'd go with a real Daiwa (or a Cabela's reel that is actually made by Daiwa. An Abu, Shimano, or probably even quantum would be better than this reel IMO.
