Default Spinnerbait Wires - Long & Short

What does one do for you that the other doesn't?

Thanks

I use the shorter armed one with single Colorado blade, or just any combo where you want to scale down, like on the river for example.

The longer arms work well with bigger willow and Colorado combos

the longer the wire the differant the vibration. this is a good/bad thing.. long wire gives lots of vibration, nearly snagless, can use large blades, runs nearly straight.. short arms, less vibration, hangs up more, is a pain to make it run straight with out roll over..

the size of the arm increases or decreases the profile of the bait..

now how the wire tightness affects the blade. an open blade arm like above creates lift in your blade. while a wire that is "just" off the hook tends to dive..

So I'm guessing I should just leave the wires alone? How about if I'm letting it sink and helicopter?

If your wanting a spinnerbait to work deeper water, one that will work well when pumped up and down, and allowed to flutter on the free fall, a short armed bait with a single colorado blade will work very well.
