Another Toy... This Time A Green One

Well added another reel to the arsenal today! Was not really looking for another reel, but the Dick's near me has Curado E7's for $125... and I have never fished a Shimano, so I figured what the hey... Mounted it on my 7'4" MH Quantum Superlite PT rod, and will be using it for football jigs and c-rigs. I hope I like it, some of the cheaper Shimano's I previously owned flat out sucked...

Had them price match a local sporting goods store that was sold out!! They told me that I could get as many as I wanted for $125! I may go back for more if I like them.

I've got 4 of them and really like them so far. I do plan on adding a 50 E as well.

Congrats Ryan, great reels! I think you will really like it, if the profile of the reel works for you. You might want to flush the bearings, Shimano seems to be one to really pack them full of grease.

I purchased a 50E earlier this year, upgraded to the abec 7 orange seals, and it is a casting machine. I have not had an opportunity to fish it on the water yet, but have cast it in the yard and I will say that it is very impressive how far it will cast weights as light as 3/16th of a ounce. I have no doubts of its ability to cast even lighter weights, but I do not have a proper rod to try it with.

This is a private pond down the road from my house that I have permission to fish. It is fairly deep and has VERY clear water. It is much clearer than it looks in the pics. Most of the reservoirs we fish around here are fairly clear water as well.
