Capt,
I believe the world record is 94 pounds, caught somewhere on the east coast in the 80's. That womans fish is big, but no where near 94 pounds. Why would it be considered a WR? TB |

I have what may seem like a dumb question... What is the difference between a Red Drum and a Redfish or is there a difference?
Is one a subspecies of the other?

The Doc has many IGFA records for saltwater species. Typically for specific line class records.

Capt. how'd you get that first fish in your net, I think ya need a bigger net? Nice fish. When cruising F&S website, looking over their IGFA Record Fish thread, you see a lot of those types of records(The Doc's multiple line class records ect.). I always wondered why it was so important to those people to have their names on the books?

I'd say that when advertising your business and having 5, 10, 15 world records would give you a slight edge over your competition. At least for those clients who fish for records or relate records with catch rates or success rates.
Now for those who want good BBQ and want to laugh the entire trip you'd go with Capt. Mike.....who cares about the rest. |

I wonder if clients ask if she will be guiding in the bikini top? Now that advertising.

There's a freshwater/salt water paper that the Dr's in all the time with her records and good catches. Most of the time she's in shorts with bikini top. That's how she rolls!!
$50!!!.....and it's metric. Won't see me buying one either..... |

Now I personally don't know Capt. Mike but from the photos and his knowledgable posts and threads I don't think you have to forget about the rest rather ALSO get the rest! And if any of her other features is the draw, I'm reasonably assured the Capt. would be willing to toss a Playboy under your seat for the trip.
