So are those replicas or skin mounts? Hard to tell from a pic...heck, probably hard to tell up close. Either way, very nice set of bookends you've got there.

Those are two great fish. But what makes those really nice is the job the taxidermist did, he must be very, very good.

Some people might complain about the skin mount, but I think every now and then there is nothing wrong with it. I still think the quality of skin mounts is superior in representation to fiberglass. Just be sure to take good care of them, not much looks worse than a deteriorated mount.

Are those the actual lures you caught the fish with?

Yes, terminator spinnerbait and zoom trick worm (bubble gum) with a spot remover shaky head. The taxidermist suggested it and I thought it was a cool idea.

Very nice my man very nice. I am wanting to a Texas trip or hopefully my Florida trip soon to catch something big enough to go with my 4.8 Bronzeback I have mounted. No large mouth mounts yet. Would love to have a pair just like yours.

Great fish...I'll bet they were a rush to catch.

(Lures with the mount a great idea)

About how much does the taxidermy cost? (in the unlikely event I ever get something in the boat like that!)

My taxi woman charges $10 an inch. I found some cheaper deals and some more expensive, but I liked the mounts she had in the shop. She ran about two months late due to a divorce so she cut me a 20% deal off the entire price, which was nice.

Makes you wonder if she skinned the ex or just nailed his butt to the wall!

So that would been $200-$250 per fish? I'd heard some can be as high as $400.

The larger of the two came from a lake that most people in my area hate. Most say it doesn't hold any large fish, but I've caught a number of solid 3-4lb fish out of it and of course the 7.5. Its an awesome lake, next time I go I'll snap some pics.
