Default Xmas Monkey?

Anyone you know get attacked by the Monkey in your name?
At my advanced age, and the fact that one side of my family ignores presents anymore, there's not a whole lot of Monkey fodder available.

I did manage to snag a $40 BPS gifty and a $50 Cabelas gifty though!

On a non-fishing related note, an ex gf sent me, what I believe are the last 2 bottles os Cattlemen's Smokehouse BBQ sauce in the retail world.
Now I have 8 bottles!

I received a couple of gift cards to Academy.

But this past week I got about 40-50 cranks added to the arsenal including H2O Xpresses, LCs, XR50s, and Bandit 100s/200s. None were gifts though, had to buy them myself and should get me through some trips.

Hope you plan on opening those bottles at some point

Fishing wise I got $50 BPS gc.

Nonfishing I got a nice leather jacket which I needed.

I got my dad some XCalibur sq. bills and an LC wake bait. Also a couple new Buck knife pocket knives.

I scored a ton of fishing gear over the last week, a couple of reels and a bunch of baits. All were purchased by me though (other than the secret santa gifts). My family doesn't buy gifts for the adults anymore, which is fine by me.

Other than the Secret Santa, Regular Santa got me some flipping jigs, some Cajun fishing line, a four different frogs, and several packs of different soft plastics. Not too bad...

I made a long list a while back that was all the soft plastic baits I use along with what colors I use. This list is about 3 pages long and I told Britney that anytime anyone asked what I wanted for my birthday (which was the 10th of December) or Christmas, to give them a copy of the list. I ended up with a ton of bags of soft plastics which came from my list. The best fishing related gift I got was a gift certificate for a few days stay at a trophy bass lake here in missouri. There are a lot of giant bass that come out of this place and I have been wanting to go there real bad for a few years now.

My wife also gave me some money towards a fishing trip. Adam and I are looking at maybe going to Fla. Peacock bass fishing 1 day and Largemouth fishing 1 day. but we are also looking at going to Lake Fork in Texas.

I also got a Falcon Bucoo micro rod (ordered), crankbaits and clothes.

I got a bottle of Hot Bone Suckin' Sauce so I guess I'll have to hit the store to buy some chicken and ribs to test it. Anybody tried it before?

No fishing gear but got a little $$ so I've got to hold the monkey back for a couple weeks until the Richmond show.

Nothing except for the Secret Santa. Although the next time anyone has a 20% off sale I'm getting an American Rodsmiths Denny Brauer Wreckin Stix frog rod as my Christmas present to myself.

I got to spend the night with my daughter and watch her open presents from Santa. That is all I could ask for (well maybe a girlfirend - but I'm working on that one).... I did get my secret santa gift as well and that is the only tackle that was given.

Is it a 1.5 or 2.5??? I throw mine with 17 or 20 lb test mono and haven't lost one yet throwing them in heavy cover. I also have an extendable pole crankbait retriever that helps.

It's a 1.5 3d. I use heavier line for my shallow craniin around cover too. Helps keep'em shallow and gives you line strength to haul them bad boys outta trouble.

I started with the 1.5 and did really well with it. For some reason I started throwing the bigger one. Catch same number but a better average. Went even bigger and threw a Fat CB BDS in the 4.0 and caught a ton of 12-13" bass two springs ago. Switched down to the 2.0 and loaded the boat with 15" + keepers. Very strange day on the water.
