Mississippiboy & Bubba Brusier
This monster was caught down your way. WOW
This is just short of the State Record Caught December 31st. It was caught in Davis Lake which is a Mississippi State Lake. 17.34 pounds off a Blue Trick worm fished on a Shakey head in a Creek juncture of the Lake. 27-3/4 inches long with 24" in Girth

Whoa, what a pig. It doesn't hardly look real. The state record is 18 pounds, 2 ounces (18.13 pounds). That's pretty dang close.

Wow now that's a BASS!
And caught by someone who knew going in, fishing would be slow (still went) and even after FIVE hours of fruitless casting was not only still casting but casting with a plan in mind. And still working the plan. Plus the temps I understand were in the high 30s to mid 40s. That's exactly a fisherman who earned HIS catch! That's eactlly the stories I like to read! Ron and Dean thanks!

Man oh man! Thats a hawg for sure. Reading stories like this really make me wish I lived in the south! But then summer fishing can be brutally hot. But look at that pig, sheesh!

Salt in the wound for us northerners. Lovely fish, no doubt. I read the article and he ought to consider himself very lucky that his Vanish line held out. Whew!

Billy, that is a little north from me, but our FL fish had spawned out before the the end of Jan last year. And with the warm weather conditions, I wouldn't be surprised if they are doing it now.
