Default Rain Gear

Any of you guys ever try the BPS 100mph Goretex or the ProGuide rain gear? I have been thinking about giving in and getting a set. I have a set of Frog Toggs and they are pretty good, never got wet yet. But when I am fishing in cold weather, I would rather not have on a bunch of layers for limited movement. What other kinds have you guys tried and recommend? I know it's a little late in the year for talking about cold gear, but I just wanted to start saving a little without the queen noticing for the purchase, hehehehehe. She doesn't understand the power of the monkey and his associates.

That will also make a fine pair of waders!

Bubba, I have the BPS Pro Qualifier. I had just the pants last year and they worked great. Picked up the jacket this winter and can't wait to try it out.

I saw a bunch of guys wearing them at my last tourney while I was trying to fight the effects of hypothermia. I didn't know if they were just trying to look cool, or there was something to them. LOL

Last spring I bought the gander mountain rain suit that looks like the BPS 100 mph suit but is about 300 dollars cheeper and it worked great in 34 deg weather with rain and 30 mph wind and going 73 mph in the boat I could have taken an nap.

yeah i like my frog toggs but the hood is like made for a 3 year old or somethin.... but the 100mph goretex is AMAZING it keeps you warm and dry.... they are just expensive.... my dad borrowed some one tournament and he wasnt cold or wet while i had on a lot more layers and still was a little cold, but not wet

I borrowed some of the 100MPH stuff for a tourney last year and it is really nice. The Cabela's Guide-wear is very similar, it just doesn't have a big BPS patch on it. I don't think you can go wrong with either, you just have to decide if you want to advertise BPS or not.
