Thursday Report
Another 30 plus LGMouth trip mostly on the fly. No encounters with Potomac Pike but all in all a great trip with good people. Here are some pics to enjoy.

Your clients have to be the happpiest folks that fish!
I always enjoy your posts! I do have a question, friend of mine has taken up fly fishing for bass. He has good feel for the casting techniques (bought a couple of $200 setups) but other than a couple of smallies not much luck. So I'm looking to help him out with some 'bass flies', any help, cause I personally popper fish with mine so this bass thing is kind of out of my leaque. Thanks again for all your great posts!

Depending on forage, depends on fly choice. If smallies are the ticket then cicada floated on a river bank is a good choice. If LGMouth in tidal waters then frogs are a good choice or decievers if they are below the surface. Fly fishing is not easy and going (CODE) will help you in the long run. Code is when you just use a fly rod all day. In LGMouth distance is helpful but an accurate cast even more. In Saltwater distance is a must. In Smallie fishing it is a combination of both that works best.
Start always with bluegill pond fishing. Then try some shad fishing Then some saltwater fishing Then and only then do you move into the LGMouth fishing. Next some float trips down smallie river. Then tarpon... false albacore... shark... tuna... By then you have 15 rods and 24 lines.. 6 tackle boxes of flys and the required ORVIS shirt. It is so addictive. Capt Mike
