Default Color for Swimbait

So if you haven't heard tacklewarehouse is having 15 percent off the next couple days (July 4th) and in my order I'm going to get 1 or 2 tru-tungsten 4 inch swim baits. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Tru-T...html#multiview

I was wondering what colors y'all have used and like on swim baits, I'm gonna get 1 blueback herring most likely b/c it's the main forage around me. ( Clark hill, Murray). But let me know what you think, thanks.

P.s- both will probably be the slow/fast sink

Choose the ones you like, in my experience thinking about too much about how closely your lure imitates the forage base means too little, in my neck of the woods there´s no trout and I fish with rainbow trout swimbaits and they catch as many fish as baby bass ( no matter what region you are at, the most abundant forage for bass is baby bass ), ayu ( there ain´t no ayu nowhere in the US, Canad or Mexico ), tilapia or herring.

I have the bluegil one since that is the main forage in our area lakes. But I havn't caught anything on it yet. But to be honest I havn't given it as much time in the water as I should have.

I got two of those a week or so ago... very good price for sure!

I got blue gill and perch cause they're the main forage around here.

I think along with the BB hearing color, I go with the sexy shad color. Sometimes standing out from the crowed (the bait fish) can help, they'll key in on the different fish and the school cause they're easier to find. The think sexy shad would be perfect, to to different, but not to similar. it's also a little brighter so it'll work better in murky water.

However I'll add this... if it wasn't for the price, I'd go with a spro swimbait. They have a more natural action (a more narrow swim) then the tru tungsten, and seem to catch much more fish me. The paint job on the TT is awesome though.

Gun - think of the water conditions you'll most likely fish them in and pick a crankbait or spinnerbait color that you've done well with in those conditions. Can't go wrong with a threadfin shad or blueback imitation.

BTD has the 5" on sale for $9!!!!
