Went out to Cypress Head today, caught 6 peacock on a double jointed rapala, fire-tiger color, and 9 on live shiners.
All over 3 lbs, biggest one at 8.

16 fish today (not including a big mayan chiclad):
15 largemouth on shad rap 1 peacock on shad rap The slight stop and then go technique worked very well once I started using it. The water was muddy, and I lost a lot of nice fish (2 pounders) due to short strikes on all retrieves. Here was the biggest of the day at exactly 2 pounds |

Sorry, it is chichlid. It is an exotic fish, similar to a peacock, but with a smaller mouth. They are considered a junk fish by most people.

Mayan Chichlids taste good. Anytime I catch them they go into the live well.

My friend, thebassmaster123, and I went in a local lake on my boat yesterday.
I caught 9: 3 peacock on fly 6 largemouth on senkos/shad rap My biggest of the day was 2 pounds 7 ounces. His biggest of the day was 2 pounds 8 ounces. It busted on the top as soon as his worm hit the water. |

I didn't notice that until I saw the picture. I am not sure what could have done it.
That sounds like a great day. You can still upload cell phone pics using photobucket. |

All very nice fish! Went out today, hooked a nice 5+ pounder, passed it off to my little bro, he brought it in. I'll put the pic up before too long. This thread is a good idea.

I agree. I have had a really good day or two in the pouring rain. I like throwing a perch crankbait in those situations. I think it contrasts the color of the sky, and looks natural, like a baby peacock.
I got 9 the other day and had a rare bass/peacock shutout yesterday. Hopefully I can make up for it over the weekend. |

2 today (not including 2 Mayans):
1 peacock on fly 1 largemouth on fly It fought great on the 4 weight fly rod! 3 pounds 12 ounces - 20 inches Two days ago, I had a monster 4+ pound peacock, but lost it in an instant. I found out why when I looked at my lure today. He straightened one of the treble hooks. That is some power! I change out my trebles and use saltwater grade ones so this won't happen, and the fish straightened it in literally a second or two. |
