Question Trolling motor battery question.

I am looking for a trolling motor battery to run a fishfinder (Eagle® Cuda™ 168 Fish Finder) and then a small trolling motor every now and then ( I prefer rowing and flippers right now). The batteries I see next to the trolling motors in the stores are so heavy and big. I just don't want to put something that heavy and big on my small pontoon. When I go out, I only fish for 2 to 4 hours so I don't need a battery to last me all day. The guy at BPS kept trying to sell me one of the big ones and wouldn't listen to me at all. I just walked away from him. Any suggestions from you guys?

Hey man, IMO those deep cycle marine bateries are the way to go. That's what we've got in the boat. I don't know if they'd last long enough, but like an auto zone brand battery should work. Most of the guys on here know more about this stuff than me though...

actually what ya need is a lawn mower battery.. guys i know use them in there yaks all the time.. the problem with a lawnmower batter is. ya have to recharge them every time you use it. it don't last half as long as a regular deep cycle life wise. exspect to replace it at least every year.. ALWAYS get the best warranty on them.
