Default Frog Fish

Caught this guy and one more on a Spro Bronze Eye frog in my dad's pond yesterday. He has a lot of floating grass and the bass are just starting to hit topwater. I missed a nice one too. Little quick on the hook set! This fish missed it the first time and I just let it sit for about 4-5 seconds then twitch it again and he inhaled it.
Also I am using the new Diawa braided line and it casts a mile. By far the best casting braid I've ever used. It's green but eventually starts to turn a blueish color when it fades. I've only used it for frogs so far but really like how well it casts!

Pretty soon, frogs will be the only things fishable in Mudson... the weeds are just getting overwhelming.

A pretty good technique last year was fishin' around the edges of weeds, especially clumps. I also have a couple sea walls and drops that produce wonders last year.

whats the correct way to use a frog? i've always casted then gave a little pull across the pads.. then a little the other way .. so on and so forth.. then when i get out the pads i slowly reel across the top of the water giving jerks to it like its swimming. i've got a green casting frog

If you can get the frog to "walk the dog" it will really produce. As a general rule I move very slowly inside the pads/grass/slop, then fast in open water. A real frog feels safer in the thick stuff in my opinion, so ill twich and let it sit for a few, twitch again. In the open water a frog is a target, so he wants to get to some cover quickly, so ill go with a fast/med fast retrieve stopping right at the edge of cover.

I work a frog similar to a Pop-R only I work it constantly. I will stop it for a second or 2 in a hole in the grass then work it fast again. I get a lot of strike when that thing is moving!

nice eric wtg!

I like to find the mat of green slime type vegetation, then move the frog a few feet at a time, but like to also move it and just twitch the frog making the top mat move, to let the bass see something is up there..another good technique is move to the edge of a pothole in the mat and twitch the frog before swimming the open water. IMO
