my "home" lake i fish is a slot limit situation. 16" to 21" gotta throw 'em back. can keep 3 below slot and 1 above. this is how you grow big bass.

most other lakes and rivers are 15" to keep, can have 5.

We've got a bag limit of 5. That is in combination of smallmouth, largemouth, and spots. We don't have any stops this far up north though. No size limit, but we fish C&R anyways.

Default Limits

Here in Jersey it's 12" and a 5 fish limit. However there are a few lakes/reservoirs that are 15" with a 3 fish limit.

I think itz best done when bag limits reflect that lakes given needs. I have one lake that i go to that has a one fish limit & it has to be at least 15 inches. Another that will let you take 3 one of which can be a trophy over 18 iches. The missouri river has a five fish limit with no min. length. The private lake that i go to is over populated your supose to keep every thing you catch. It just depends on the fishing preasure on that body of water.
