They are surprisingly good for such acheap (price) rod. The first time I used mine with a crankbait I caught a bass on the first cast. It's the best $20 rod out there bar none.

Right on! There is something to those cherrywoods. Now that's cherry.

I let my dad use my cherrywood rod when I took him smallie fishing for the first time last year and he chose it over my Lamiglas Certified Pro rod. Now whenever I take him fishing, that is the only rod he wants to use.

I like my cherrywood rod. I have caught more 2-3lb smallies on it than any other rod. It handles light line and light baits extremely well

I have a Berkley Air IM7 by Buzz Ramsey for catfishin' and musky/pike and absolutley love it. It is 9' and handles heavier line and lures pretty well. I believe it is one step up from the Cherrywood's, but don't quote me on it. I have also seen Berkley Bionix and those are sweet! They were around $53.99 at Wal-Mart.

I suspect that this is before your time, but there was a group called The Carpenters who wrote the perfect song for you and your bait monkey...

The song starts: "We've Only Just Begun." Oh, so 70ish!
