Default need reccomendations for a rod

I'm planning on getting my dad a new rod just as a surprise.....he prefers spincasting cus he likes to just wing it really far. We fish from shore and he just really enjoys casting it really far... doesnt matter what type, as long as it has a smooth retrieve.. Budget: $30- $40 looking for a rod around 6' maybe

This is the best combo I have ever found.

Johnson Country Mile reel and rod.

Good luck getting one.
