Default Kentucky Lake is CLOSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, that is right!! Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley are closed to all recreational boating!!! I have never seen this happen or even considered it as a possibility. The Coast Guard closed it until at least midnight on Monday and maybe longer. This canceled the bfl for this weekend and we have to wonder if this will affect the flw stren (or whatever they call it) event next weekend.

Well, it was crazy. Riverside Dr in Clarksville is still flooded. Someone would be crazy to get on the Cumberland River to fish with all the debris floating. On the better not I say on the news these guys in a nice bass boat saving people from there homes. That was just an amazing sight to see.

The local news broadcast reported at noon today that if you got caught it was a $32,500 fine. And yes, that is the correct number of zeros. I have not heard this anywhere else, but that is what the local tv station is reporting.

A local guide there posted on fishin.com that they have relaxed the closure. It is now only closed from the 68 bride there at Kenlake north to the dam... from there south is now open to recreational boaters again...

That correct. Kentucky Lake is open from the highway 68 bridge south. There is still a lot of debrie in the lake and the current is flowing really fast. I think I will take the weekend off from the lake and hit the pond tomorrow morning with topwaters and spend the rest of the weekend with the kids.

Well they said the Cumberland at Nashville would be back below flood stage by today... guess they were wrong in their predictions because I am still stranded... finially got power back early this morning.

Has been all along south the cg website has each days news or correction printed they are the best source not forums, the forum is but a discussion of that event ,while those you mentioned said they had been called or even escorted off the water they failed to mention they live in Kentucky, only ten percent of kentucky lake is actually in kentucky. It also wasnt exactly clear in print, that first day even on the cg website,to their credit.
At the same time I had taken photos of boaters sitting next to the cg station here at Paris landing, apparently the cg knew where to enforce it all along.
And their website with all its daily corrections etc is http://www.piersystem.com/go/doctype/425/46479
Ky lake is very high has few ramps open and has log jams and unforseen docks etc lying underneath, best to stay home until it goes down.

If you want to see video footage of some of the ramps at Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley, go to www.castministries.net. There is footage of Big Bear Ramp where the forum held the gathering last year. Luckly the lake levels are dropping!
