Default Trip to BPS

I had a $50 gift certificate to BPS so I went today to buy a family camping tent that was only $50 (normally $100). Of course while I was there, I had to buy some stuff for fishing. I mean, I am not going to travel 60 miles one way and not get some fishing stuff. Well, I kind of over did it. I picked up an medium flex, high action Ugly Stick for my spinning reel (the old rod lost several of the guides). I then acquired an 8' Ugly Cat so I can use that just for catfishing. It was only $18.99 and was just begging me to get it. I then got some more Gammy EWG 3/0 hooks (you can never have too many of those). And I also picked up box of 1/16 0z and 3/16 oz hook weights. I almost picked up another baitcaster but I figured I need to "master" my first one before I start accumulating those. I forgot to pick up one of these:

and that was one of the items I wanted to pick up when I went down there. Oh well, I guess I will have to just go back.

Only 60 miles. Lucky you. Before they opened the one in Toledo we had to drive about 125 miles one way to the one in Detroit. The gas for that trip left us with not a lot of money to feed the baitmonkey. Now we've got a Cabela's about .5hours north and a BPS about .5hours South of us.

Im going up to BPS sunday they are having a preferred shoppers sale. You get 3x the rewards points plus you have a coupon that can get you a $250 gift card and all the back down to $5 gift card. Or 1000 reward points + free drinks and snacks + some raffles. It should be one hell of a time gonna drop alot of money though

I could have picked up a Triple wing Strike King Buzz bait and a Cordell Ratl Spot for Robbie's buzz modification if he had told us about it earlier.

Just kidding Robbie. I can get these (hopefully) at Academy Sports or Wally World. Thanks again for sharing your secret. I hope it works for me.

Yeah, I'd be broke in about a week if I lived there...

BPS for me is about a 15-minute drive down the interstate. I find myself always making excuses about why I need to go that way...

Yeah i went up there twice last weekend on friday and sunday to the new one that was built around Toledo. i spent a good 500 bucks there on 2 spinning combos a bait caster tons of cranks and spinners and plastics and some of chartreuse dip that you dip the end jig trailer or plastic worm in. My mom was pissed when she found my receipt because i owe her 50 bucks and my sister 200bucks So she grounded me.errrrerrrrrr::: so i had to wait all week before i could use it I bought the Johnny MorrisBait caster and put it on a MH graphite series rod so any thought on that reel would be appreciated

Buddy, realize this... all the tackle in the world will not make you a better bass fisherman. Time on the water is way more important than having tons of tackle and reels...

CCS, you put a Johnny morris Baitcast reel on a Graphite series rod... hmm... There's like a $150 difference between those. when it comes to baitcasting, I'll spend more on a reel than a rod, but not that much!

Guys, I also heard that BPS employees get a 40% discount!!!!!!!!!!!! Good way to get them to spend their paychecks.

I wonder if part timers get that discount. It may be worth me getting another job.
