My son (holding the fish, I'm taking the picture) caught it on a fly rod, using a hairbug he learned how to tie at BPS. Not sure what happened to the tail. I have a picture of a little bigger one that took grasshopper lure bigger than he was.
We called this night of the little large mouth

I swear I've caught bass That size on #7 original rapala floating minnows.

I hooked a bass minnow this year on a crankbait. It was impaled on one of the trebbles, and was no longer than 2" max. I must have hooked on impact, or the quick jerk I use to get them started. Because I immediately knew I was either tangled up with the hooks or got gunk on it, since it wasn't retrieving properly. I reeled it in and started laughing. Just for kicks I casted it back out and let it sit for a minute, just to see if something wanted a minnow on a crankbait LOL, no takers though.

Smallest bass I've caught was a smallmouth about 4" and it hit rapala bigger than itself.

Mounted? Mounted! We had that beast for dinner! Me and wife could only feed 8 of the 10 kids thou. But thats ok cause the other two had the deer we hit on the way home.
