Yea it really is a great feature, it looks great. The paint job wont catch 1 single fish more, but its very pretty.

Extremely sweet looking rod, from what I can tell, all premium components. Does anyone know the price range or any of the stats/ have any reviews on it?

I appreciate the comments, that is real rattlesnake skin that we inlay on the butt for a different look. That is right it will not catch more fish it is just something for people to have different on their rods. We offer that same rod without the skin. If you would like to know about our rods read some tetimonials at our website tigerodz.com, click on the testimonial link. Our website will be going under construction in the near future to add some different looks to it. We have new models out for this year that we do not have the price for on the site, feel free to contact for those for anyone interested.

I look at it this way.....It may not catch any fish, but its custom.....its the same reason guys have me airbrush artwork onto their motorcycles,helmets,tailgates,etc...I've even custom painted outboard engine covers just so theirs would look different.....its just something the next guy doesn't have......I understand that.....I like being different. Those rods are sweet.....being a fan of reptiles, i'd buy one if I could afford something like that....its the uniqueness of it that makes it worthy to own.....all around nice lookin rod. |

I think thats the right way to look at it. Everyone wants nice looking stuff. Its even cooler that its a real skin. But why not use bass skin? Now that would be B.A.

I'm no taxidermist, but I do know that fish skin is very thin and difficult to tan out correctly...i've tried.....plus it does not hold any of its natural coloring once its tanned.....it just turns white and doesn't even hold its scales very well.....while snake skin on the other hand is very durable when tanned correctly and does retain its natural color after the tanning process....thats why it gets used for belts,boots,wallets,purses,hatbands,etc.etc.. while fish skin gets used for nothing.
