KVD Red Eye Lipless vs Yo-zuri Hardcore Drum
It was on yesterday. Bass were schooled and feeding heavily on the outgoing tide. They were off the channel on the flats relating to either rock or grass.
So here's the question. Which trap won? The Major has been on the Red Eye lipless kick since it was released and has scored very well on this bait. I hate traps but got hold of a custom Hardcore from a client that I wanted to test out. Here's a couple pics of the weigh in. |

For those who were interested but were skeered to ask the custom Hardcore caught the most fish but they both were equal in the number of keepers (over 15"). The Hardcore did have a slightly bigger average.
But the RC 2.5 accounted for all the fish over 4lbs but didn't put the numbers in the boat like the traps did. |

Smitty, nice chunkers!. I really like the Yo-Zuri baits. They have that weight transfer going on with the internal BB's. I like the sound that resonates with the Drum.

I've played with it a lot so far this spring. I don't get the same vibration that I get with other lipless baits - or very little compared to others - on a steady retrieve. Can't complain with the results from last week though.
You notice the same or am I missing something? |

Let us know how you do on the Chick. I think the warm weather and sunshine might pull the smaller fish off the flats around the points and into the spawning areas. Hopefully the big ones will hang out and wait. I might head out today but will definitely be out the next 4 days. |
