CONGRATS SK!! Like ol zooker said, he too is fighting cancer, as well as patrick krueger. We are still praying for them both. You can be a lot of help to us in this regard.
Zooker, we need that info for the bone marrow thing ok?

i wrote a short story after it was all over with thought i would share it maybe help someone else see the light here it goes.
I was diagnosed with stage 2 November 2007 after 2 surgery and 6 months of chemo. I am 11 months cancer free. I am now 30 years old. At 1st I was confused I didn’t think people my age got cancer. I remember how it all happen in a matter of days. The Doctor called me Saturday night at 9 o’clock I was shocked by what he had to tell me. At 1st they were going to give me radiation therapy. But 4 hours before the Doctor call me and said he wouldn’t be able to help me. I asked why? He told me that I had there are two kinds of testicular cancer and I had both. I when to see Dr. Vaughn at univ Penn hospital. He told me what I feared the most. That I was going to need Chemo and possibly a surgery to clean out my lymph nodes. So the day had finally come Jan 14.2008 I will never forget that day as long as I live. I remember sitting in the car outside the Chemo Dr. It took me almost 20 minutes to get out of the car. I went inside and was very surprised what I had found. Happiness and laughter this couldn’t be right. Or maybe I just had it wrong from the very beginning. I meet people with all kinds of cancer young old. But everyone was like a family. I still talk to some of them today. I received two kinds of drugs they were VP-16 and Cispatin I was ok doing my 1st cycle I would receive the drugs everyday Mon- Fri for at least 6 hours a day. I would always be the last one left. As I went into my 2nd cycle around Wednesday I could really start feeling the side affects everyone is different so you don't listen to what people say that your going to be sick. I knew people that would go to work after treatments. I only threw up 1 time and that was because I had drunk some milk bad idea. As far as the other things I felt nothing tasted good at all. My ears were ringing for what feel like months. And my balance was bad. By Wednesday during the weeks of my treatment I would really have no strength left at all I remember being in bed for 5 day straight. I didn't know if I was going to make it during my 4th cycle. But that this point its a mind game you have to want to get well. I had my last round of chemo. When I went to the hospital to get my chest port removed the nurse said she had never seen anyone with a smile on the face with his or her chest wide open. I knew that it was almost over and I could get back to living life. I still have to get check ups every couple of months. What I have learned threw my experience are many things. 1. There is not alot of Info on Testicular cancer. 2. Life is full of surprises 3. Never put anything off till tomorrow tell your wife you love her. Tell your Family you love them. I have been blessed to learn so much. I thank you for listening to my story. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or even if you just need to vent. To beat this your going to need all the support you can get. Pain only last a little while But Quitting last forever. GOD BLESS |
