Found some Fusion Line!!! Must read

I went to the resivoir with NJBassDevil, and while fishing we found a bag of fishing stuff. In there was a crank, some drop lines, bobbers, and a brand new spool of Spiderwire Fusion 12lb test, 8lb diameter. Well, he took everything, and I got the line. Man it is a smooth line. I think I may have found a new superline!

Yeah! it is awesome! I use 17lb test. Smooth and strong.

lol, good find, I found a small tackle box in the onf next to a small pond, the funny thing is, this pond was dry a couple months ago, so obviously no fish, however the tackle box was filled to the top with a bunch of soft plastics, 2 rooster tails, a couple bobbers, a spool of 10 lbs vanish (already had 2 spools at the house) some hooks and a couple cheap wally world spinners. It didn't make up for me leaving my tackle box at rodman one night, had about $400 in tackle, was a rather large rolling box, but it was nice to recoup some of that loss. Always love finds like this, but feel bad for the poor chap that left it. Only way I can feel good about it is knowing the stuff will be put to use instead of sitting in somebody garage just melting the plastics. Congrats on the find.

Nice find man yea i use spiderwire too but i use 17lb test ez casting mono how does it compare to the fusion line?

Fusion is a braid with a teflon coating, ez cast is a mono, they are two completly differnent kinds of line.

I know that but say i wanted to switch to this fusion how is compared to the ez cast mono? How is spiderwire mono diff from braid ? I want to know this because if i ever switch from mono i would want spiderwire becasue its what ive used for a few years now.

i use trilene 17lb. but i should start to try that spider wire it sounds good

Hey now PB! Don't take all the credit! I'm the one that found the bag! Your lucky I let you keep the fusion! No man I'm just kiddin. I didn't need the fusion. I have a whole spool of 30lb braid at my house. And I also found a brand new set of #4 fishing hooks. I gave those to my dad.

Sounds like something I need to try. I have had some bad experiences with spider wire so I aint to fond of it but in this case I will make an exeption....... Look out Wally World here I come....................................

It is realtivly cheap for a superline too, 6 buck or so.

Fusion can't come close in quality to Stealth, Power Pro or Fireline. The coating doesn't last long and no braid should allow break-offs, which Fusion will when pulled through rocks. I'd never use it for spinning reels because it is a flat line versus a round one and tangles more frequently.

I'm surprised it's still on the market, though you may have better sucess. By comparison, it's on the low end of the superlines.

this stuff is awsome i bought 17 lb and 50 lb line 50 lb for my jug fishin 17 for my reel it cast good

Thanks LR - Been sick for the last two weeks, the air temps have been in the 90's and water temps near 85. Once Irene hits, things should look up and maybe the water won't look like pea soup! It's been slow in the n.e., except for sporadic action. Tidal/ nontidal rivers have been the best producers for quantity but inconsistent quality. How you (and everyone) been doing in your local waters?

The 4" soft stick is still #1, but cranks are taking a fair share in open, deeper water over mild humps (weird). Lost my last Risto Rap on a nice hog, but got another on a Rat L Trap (also weird). Been a weird year.

If I'm fishing I'm happy. The bite isn't spectacular, but fish are here and there also. Biggest problem has been the lack of vegetation, and the heat. But hey it's summer, and the temps will soon change, then we'll have at it again. I've been catching them on cranks also, and smaller worms. Of course the lizards always work too. Hope you get to feeling better, and hope that Irene doesn't hit too hard.
