Default Topwater Action

Hit the local reservoir tonight for almost two hours. Got there at 8. (P.S. sorry about the poor picture quality)

I read the review on TT of the Punch Skirt today and how versatile it was, so I made up a couple to try tonight. I caught one fish on my skirted t-rig. The setup was a bobber stop, followed by an 1/8oz bullet weight. Then came my "punch skirt" followed by a 5/0 Owner Twistlock hook and a watermelon green pumpkin Yamamoto Swim Senko. Fished just like a normal t-rig, but with the added enticement of a jig.

Didn't get any more hits on that, so when it got a little darker, I switched to an XCalibur Zell Pop (the bigger sized one).

Third and smallest of the night. Also caught on the Zell Pop.

Last, and largest of the night. Also on the popper, which was completely inside his mouth and tough to get out, hence the bleeding.

Good night, and I had fun with the topwater. I also had a hit earlier on an XCalibur Jimmy, but missed him.

BB144...Looks like that punch skirt setup is going to produce for you. I sure like those colors you selected. Would be curious to know how you fare with this rig through the summer.

Thanks guys. The article on TT really piqued my interest in them. Knowing they're good for a lot more than punching mats, I got excited to try them out on other rigs.

Geezer, the one in the picture is a wild mix of green pumpkins and watermelons with a few strands of chartreuse thrown in.

Just got back from another trip out there. Forgot the camera this time... had it sitting on the counter all packed and ready when I realized I didn't know where my sunglasses were. So after looking for 15 minutes for them, I gave up and left, forgetting the camera as well... DOH!

Started off around noon-thirty. Got the first one on the dropshot.

Switched over to my Skirted T-Rig, and caught 4. After a while of no bites, I switched to a crankbait and nailed another one. After a while of nothing I crank, I went back to my Skirted T-rig and landed one more.

Fished a bit more with nothing, talked to a guy who was there fly fishing for a while. His first time there. I gave him some good spots to fish before I left cause it was getting hot and I hadn't eaten anything today, so by 2:30 I was hungry.

Might go back again tonight with that popper.

Excuse my ignorance. I imagine a punch skirt is for punching through grass. Any other info on them please.

That is the intended use for them, yes. But as they explain in the TT review, they are much more versatile. I'll post some pics of my setup later.
