help with strange lake
ok, so i have this public lake that i go fishing at. It is a heavy pressured lake, but is also known as a big bass lake! it has shad in it as well. I have tried everything from swim bait to crank bait to worms, creature baits, frogs top water luers, i have tried it all...i have even tried the alabama rig today! and im getting nothing. im only catching 1 fish all day if any at all! but the strange thing is there are BIG bass in there..you can see them with your polorized sunglasses, and there diffently feeding on the shad, but nothing i do seems to work....i can catch fish all day long at other lakes and ponds, just not this one...any ideas, thoughts or suggestions?

have you tried a shaky head? SLOOOOOWWWWW and steady. seems like oyu need to WATCH what everyone else is slinging and sling something different. different approach and eveything. are oyu fishing form the bank or from a boat? and WHERE is this lake (state, city or ocunty). the mORE info oyu can give us the better we can help oyu bud.
you could try live bait too.

Try a senko wacky rigged with a nail weight inserted in the end or a Zoom Old Monster rigged the same way. Try green pumpkin for color.

Please describe your lake. Where is it, the size of the lake, is the water clear, stained or in between? Average depth, and type of lake. Lots of weeds or fairly weed free? Lots of rip rap or brush? Is there a river or stream feeding into the lake? Whats the water temperature right now? Does it have a sandy bottom overall or is it more of a muck bottom? Is there any deep water with points or dropoffs? Info like that will really help us to help you.

timber and trees in the water? toss a jig or huge worm or shaky head worm or maybe a JIKA rig. search this forum for the jika rig. and fish it SLOW. toss it in every corner of the trees. if i am correct, the bass are on bed at this time. spring came EARLY this year. so it may take some coaxing to get them right now.
