Flick Shake
If you guys have not tried this bait it is well worth checking out. I got some for my father-in-law to use-he loves to fish just doesn't have the knowledge and experience-and he tore them up today. We lost count and figure between us we put 25-30 in the boat and missed 10-15. He boated a 5 pounder and had a 7-8 pounder spit the hook on the surface.
Essentially this is a wacky rig using a jighead and a finesse worm that has a slight bend in one end. I had heard this technique worked well and it really does!

Hey Mac, while we wait and hope that Reb will post a pic of this, would you consider posting a pic of your bait from this thread?

Reb,
If they won't hit it on the bottom, wacky rig it on a drop shot. That technique has been deadly next to structure for me lately. I use about a 12" leader, and simply make it rise and fall the length of the leader.

I have several bags of these baits and for some reason I haven't ever given them a fair shot (probably because I don't like finesse fishing). But I will use this technique in the future when I need to slow down and finesse them a bit.

Thanks, this is definitely on my baits to try this year list. I only hope I can find some where that has the jig heads.. I'd rather not buy online.

Thanks to all for the great posting and information. Since I like finesse with smaller worms, I'm now trying to figure out how to "bend" a worm. Great Posting!!! Good Fishing, Mac

Congrats on the great day on the water with your father in law. Could I ask what type of water were you using this technique? Like depth, any cover, water clarity and so on. Way to go Reb!

Reb,I've been using them for a few years now.I use a 1/8 oz. Zappu "inch wacky" jighead with them,I have the Jackall jackroll heads but I like the Zappu brand better.Camo color works well for me.

Keith, it was fairly clear water in 15+ feet, but the fish were hitting it around 10. We were right up against a vertical cliff where a creek enters the lake on an inside bend.
BB, like P&J (How you doing, Amigo-it's been a while!) I use the Zappu jigheads. We were using the 1/16 oz on spinning gear. That size along with the 1/8 oz. are the sizes I use. The 1/16 oz worked better yesterday.

Try sticking a piece of a paper clip into the worm with the bend you want it int. The tail will stay in that position, instant bend.
