Went fishin with Bender

Bender came up my way today and we headed to Big Platte Lake, which is well known for it's Smallmouths.

We didn't do too well. Several Rock Bass between us, including 1 really nice one each, and I got a Smallmouth.

Not many places around here to get smallies from the shore, so I was thrilled

I had a good time, can't quite say great since the fishing was tough.

I still haven't figured out what was happening on the lake and why we couldn't find fish. I'm 100% sure there are lots in there since there were so many empty beds, but I don't know where the heck they went? Luckily I made up for it today with a lot of fish in a tourney.

If I am back up that way I'll look you up or let me know if you are ever down this way.

And nice smallie too, now you see why they are addicting since they go nuts when you hook them.

Mallen, great fish!! Bender is a class act. He's helped me out quite a bit over the last year and a great guy to fish with.

Yeah they were certainly hiding that day. Quite the bummer since you drove all the way up to find some fish.
