Default Hardcore limit

I finally got out for the first time in 2010 on Sat. Couple guys met up on the hot side of the radioactive cesspool and braved the freezing morning temperatures and NW winds to get on the water. We started on the main point of the creek we launched out of and did nothing. Turned the corner and started working the flat. I pulled out the cranking rod with the Yozuri Hardcore, checked the temp guage and found 49 degrees, cast up to 3' of water, muttered something about KVD and the rod loaded up with the first bass of the year. Slightly over 14" or so. Worked down the bank and proceeded to put a limit of fish in the boat over the next hour and a half. All the bass were shallow in less than 8' of water and relating to flats or small points. One may have been on a dock.
Ran to a couple areas that had warmer temps, 56-64 degrees, and couldn't buy a bite. Spent the rest of the day searching for more fish but came up empty. Even went back over the areas we had caught them early in the day and nothing. But not a bad day for the first day back on the water .

Sounds like a good day man! Good to see you're getting on the water dispite the cold.

It actually warmed up nicely and if we stayed out of the wind it was a pleasant day on the water.

I wish I could find water in the upper forties. Still low forties around here. Congrats on the first fish of the year

That's why you got to love Nuclear Power Plants......except for the radioactive material they do wonders for the fishing in the winter.

Not a bad day at all man, this is worst time of the year for me. Still ice here and others are starting to fish...

Anyways, Congrats on a decent first day out.

This is one i got on the hot side Feb 20. Man it felt good to have a chunky bass eat my crankbait after a long off season.

When you click "Submit reply", make sure it's the second one down, not the normal one right below the icons. If you click the upper one, your text will post but not the image.
That could be the problem

Feeder creek in Pond 2. One of the guys in the club owns a house that has access to a ramp. Six of us went out. Everyone caught bass. Best fish went 3 pounds or so.

Keep on trying Dshow.....you'll get it

I love fishing the hot side on the rare oppurtunity I get to go there. Sadly it's the only place I'm capable of catching bass in the winter.

I know exactly where that Gazebo is . Nice fish. A little thin but will probably be much fatter by my March 20th tournament.
