Default Lake Fork Fishing Report 4-19-04

Bass fishing here at Lake Fork this past week was very good except for having to deal with all of the high wind. Catching fish was not to big of a problem most of the time but being able to stay on the best spots, did turn out to be a big problem. Most of the places that are producing the best Bass for us are on the main lake close to the points or shallow flats. We did catch a few fish in some of the coves but after the wind was up to 20 mph plus, it was very hard to move around. We are not anywhere close to the end of the spawn and the Bass fishing is going to continue to get even better as we finish out April and start into May. Our three largest Bass for April so far weighted 12.4, 12.3 and 10.1 and all of these fish were released in great shape. Look for the Bass fishing to continue to improve over the next month and as we get into May and June, the deep water fishing should be great. For us that's when we start to catch good numbers of Bass as well as numbers of trophy size fish.

Lake Fork is still about two feet low and the water is a little off color in some areas due to all the wind. The water temp is in the mid 60's on the main lake and in 70's in many of the coves. Over all, Lake Fork still looks good and there is still lots of good Bass fishing left for the Spring. We will start up with our Cat Fishing at Lake Fork in June.

For anyone who would like to go to Mexico with us Bass fishing in 2005, I have two trips set for Jan 24th and Feb 21st. at Lake Comedero. The Feb trip is just about full although I have 5 spots open as of now. The Jan trip is about half full and we have 14 spots open. This past year we were able to catch some giant Bass from Comedero with our three largest Bass weighing 13.8, 15.2 and 16.3 as well as good numbers of Bass caught. Book early to get the best rates on air.

We have the guides that can do it all. To book a fishing trip with us, give us a call at 903 383 3282 or e-mail us at jjguides@hotmail.com Until Next Week, Good Luck and Great Fishing !!!
