A Great Friend Passes.
We bassers (and the bass) owe much to this man. His research benefitted both in great measure.
RIP, Dr. Hill From BassFan.com: Dr. Hill passes 7/19/2008 Angling innovator Dr. Loren Hill, father of pro Kenyon Hill, has passed away after a long battle with cancer. Dr. Hill's contributions to the sport of fishing remain immense. A renowned fisheries scientist and former director of the zoology department and Biological Research Center at the University of Oklahoma, he invented and marketed the Color-C-Lector and pH meter, and is remembered as one of the first to combine sound science with practical sportfishing knowledge. More details on his career, and remembrances from peers, will be posted soon. [End] Lancer6 |

That is truly a sad thing. I've met Kenyon several times and found him to be one of the of most approachable, easy to talk to pros on the tour. If his dad was anything like him, on top of his many accolades, the man must've been monumental.
