Default Abu Garcia: REVO WINCH

Got the reel yesterday and let me tell you, she is weet! At first, I was skeptical of the lower gear ratio, but I really ended up prefering it over my old Citica. The casting is smooth and super-quiet as well. I was easily reaching 40 yards with a Rapala Jointed Shad Rap. Outdistanced my Citica two-fold.

Great reel. Will post pictures soon as we get back from BPS tonight...

Ok.... It only lasted about 30 seconds, but it was torrential. That white, the rain moving across the lake...

Da new baby...

Fish pictures to follow...

i looked at it allready for a shallow diver it is ok...but it is a 5.4:1 geared reel i rather have a 5.1 maximum gearing in a crank reel..the old abu winch was a 3.8:1 geared beast..still one of my all time favorites for deep cranking in the heat of summer..

if a shad rap is all you are throwin it wont matter much..but when ya move up to any thing that digs 10+ feet you will need something slower..

Zook, I was bangin' around in 10-12' of water with that Rap and was crankin' like no tomorrow.

Picked up a few Bandit 300's at BPS today, gonna try 'em out Sunday. I really wanted the LC's, but none of the diving depths were listed, so I ditched 'em. I did get a scale though. Berkley TEC 35-lb....

Tossing that little lure 120'? That is awesome!!! So much is a winch? I too love crankbait fishing and to this point I have been using my cardiff with its 5.x:1 ratio. Also, what line were you using?

That reel looks awesome btw. Congrats.

I see no problem with the handle either. Buzzie, next time we get together, I'm gonna have to cast that baby once or twice.

IB,

I was using Stren Magnathin, 12-lb. I upsized 2-pounds due to the small diameter, so technically, I'm still using 10-lb.

Ha! Great minds think alike. I also use magnthin in 10# strength though, because I want the little light cranks to sail. The Cardiff does amazingly well despite not have the superfree, but gosh almighty, somebody get me a winch!

I have that same lure its fantastic. Also I love Abu Garcia products, I dont have anything nearly that nice but I bought a Stealth combo the otherday for my bike trip fishings, and I love it so much it may replace my 1 peice rods.

I noticed that too. I do everything right handed except for fishing and shooting pool. I don't know why but fishing left handed feels natural.
