I've got a couple of g-loomis rods, a st croix, but I like my Woo Davies extreme rods the best. I have 6 of them and they cost less than the two g-loomis rods put togather. I know Buzz Wing will not agree. The more they cost the better they are RIGHT

Honestly i am a big fan of the cherrywood & lighting rods from berkely . for the time being it won't kill me to break one and they are functional . I am sure when i finally pony up and spend more on a rod my opinion will change but as of now they suit me .

My favorite bass rod is the one that is catching the fish that day. Same goes with my favorite lure.

I have many different brands and like most all of them, but they are all for different things so I can't really compare them. I have an Outlaw rod and like it a lot, it is a 7' Medium and is light, sensitive, and has a good backbone.

yep, falcon here too. i really love the falcon cara's but the origionals are very nice rods too. and considering they are a higher end rod the price isn't bad at all.

I really love my Bass Pro Shops Pro Qualafier LTD Rod. It's a 6' 6" MH Fast Action rod, good for spinnerbaits.

i have 2 outlaws coming in as we speak...a 7ft med and a 7ft heavy. they should be in this week, i'll let you know my opinions on them as soon as i can.
after talking to the owner my impression so far is that he will be good to work with and did not mind taking time to talk to a customer. his warranty is amazing but i hope i do not have to use it |

My G-Loomis is pretty nice, but probably Falcon or St.Croix are my favorite.

I wish the higher end rods had the trigger guard type-deal on it. Better grip for casting!

Rods . . . always a good subject. I have been through a lot of them over the years. Here are some of my thoughts.
The BPS Extreme rods are a good bang for the buck. They are very versatile. I have some spinning and some baitcasting Extremes. My complaint is that they are very heavy and seem to be rated below what they actually are (the Medium seems more like a Medium-Heavy and the Medium-Heavy feels like a Heavy rod). I have a couple Berkely Cherry Rods. They are really good rods for the money. To me these rods are great when sensitivity isn't an issue. I use em' for throwing spinnerbaits and some lighter crankbaits. Ugly Sticks . . . These rods aren't bad and are very durable. As I mentioned earlier, I have been through a lot of rods over the years. This is because I do stupid things like close them in doors and step on them. I still have the same Ugly Stick trout rod for the past 15 years. Not too expensive either. Again, great rods where sensitivity isn't critical. My favorite rod is my Kistler Magnesium Senko special. Very light in the hand and great for a long day of fishing. This rod is awesome for throwing plastics because it is super sensitive. I swear that I now feel bites that I used to miss on other rods. Even when I am fishing fast moving water on the Delaware, I still feel the hits. I love this rod. I bought a Carrot Stick. Not bad. Pretty sensitive but feels just a bit heavier than the Kistler. Just my 2 cents. |

Kistler. Wish2bfish, I just got back from vacation and have to say I agree with you on the Kistler Mag. I also was using a Powell and to me the Kistler was The better rod. The LTA is my favorite.
If you want to start a kid fishing I say give him an Ugly Stick. He'll have it for the better part of his life. I'm 55 and I still have mine from when I was a teenager. The Mitchell 300's are still working on them too. I use them for walleye mostly.
