Default Definition of "fast tip" on rod?

I read a lot of articles in fishing magazines that use the term "fast tip" when referring to the action of a rod. What does this mean exactly? I wasn't sure if "fast tip" meant that the tip was stiff, or if it was very whippy, or what. Thanks for shedding any light on this for me!

it varies on some brands, but I'd expect that up to 18 inches on the rod tip are more flexible than other medium action rods..test yours and see what area bends easy, then the middle is more stiff...
On most rod makes this varies in stiffness and number of inches from the rod tip that is flexible.
I like a medium with fast tip for light crankbaits and I also throw jerkbaits with this kind of rod.

Here's a guide.

Extra-fast--most of the bend in the rod is in the upper 25%.

Fast--33%.

Moderate--50%

Slow--extends into butt section.
