Late start and a fast incoming tide pushed us way back in the creek where we passed boat after boat that caught nothing at all. Not even a hit.
We set up in some flooded pads and man did the Potomac Pike want to hit. I lost count at 15 or so and not a single hookup. It was amazing.. Can not wait till Sunday to have at them again. Capt Mike

It is hard to explain but they they grab the legs and then swim backwards , turn then suck the frog in. Can you wait that long seeing the whole play out 10 yards in front of the boat in less than a foot of water?

Seeing the strike comming also elevates the angler's excitement and anticipation of the hit. It is not uncommon while buzzing a toad through vegetation to see movement of the fish comming out of hiding and following the frog causing a wake on the approach. It is one of the most awesome sights I have seen while fishing. They often follow a bit behind the frog, pushing that wake then hit with a violent splash, it is pretty difficult for an angler to delay setting the hook after all the excitement building up. But as Capt. Mike said, snakeheads are toothy fish that bite their prey (usually) to stun/kill it then turn and swallow it, unlike the bass we are familiar with that usually hit and engulph their prey. Snakehead fishing with a frog provides a good adrenalin rush. Having them explode from under a grass mat to hit a hollow frog or rat will almost make your heart stop.
