Default Graphite Rods???

How do I tell if my rods are graphite or not? Some of them are labeled and some are not.

Well, a fiber glass rod with have more a parabolic bend evenly across the blank, and just more flexible. A graphite rod, will generally be more stiff and bend more towards the tip, and have more back bone, and power.

You could also just try the googleing the rod, and see what comes up!

This is what unpainted graphite looks like.

I agree with Bassboss. You can also tap the tip on a solid floor. You will really feel the vibration through the handle with the graph.. A fiberglass will have a more subdued feel. You will feel it but not near as much vibration. Other than that names, ranks, serial numbers!

In most cases the fiberglass rods will be much heavier than graphite.
