Had a good day
Yesterday we set out not expecting much but a heavy sunburn as its been pretty slow lately. We got on the water around 11am and by 3pm we only had 3 fish, all off t-rigged worms. Then I spotted a bit off turbulance on the water and we trolled over and found several balls of shad. I whipped out the good ole sexyshad trap just in case and sure enough the water started to explode around us. It was crazy seeing some of these bass flipping through the air. For the next 3 or 4 hours we were able to keep up with the shad and I honestly have no idea how many fish we caught, it was ALOT. Seems like every 2nd or third cast we were pulling back a fish. I got so tired of pulling shad off my trap I finally just gave up and would chunk it back out there with the shad still attached, the bass sure didn't seem to care. I seemed to be catching more fish than my buddy. He was using a small trap pretty much the same size as the shad. I was using a medium size trap thinking it would be easier for bass to single out and that seemed to payoff for me. We didn't catch any over ~3lbs but we did pull up a good number of keeps.Of course we didn't keep a single one, just not our style. I've never got to experiance this before and I must say it was an absolute blast.

awesome man. me and a buddy found them schooling around a rock pile early this summer, but it was mostly white bass and stripers with a few largemouths mixed in. caught mine on a shallow diving sexy shad crank, and he caught all his on a shallow diving shad colered lucky craft crank.
i have never caught largemouth schooling like that though.

You should put stuff like this in the Bragging Board section. Because it's definitely worth bragging over. I know I'm jealous...sounds like you had a great time.

Wow! Sounds like a really fun day! Reason you weren't catching 'em at first is because they where all with the shad!
Congrats!

Sounds like fun! When you catch a lot, the size doesn't seem to matter as much.
