Default Holiday weekend report

I was very hesitant to put this in the "bragging" section because there was certainly nothing to brag about. Hubby and I hit the water about 5:30 Saturday morning. He had better luck than me but only managed to get one in the boat that was at least 15 inches. We probably had 10 total.

Hit the water again Monday morning about 6:00 a.m. I got two pretty quick with one being a 15 incher. Things slowed down after that and it seemed to be forever before we got another bite. I paid him back for Saturday though and managed to boat 2 more that would have been considered "keepers". We got caught in two pretty good downpours. We probably had 12 - 15 or so total. I was cold and wet and quit counting. We finally headed back to the house and spent the rest of the evening trying to get warmed up again.

Isn't it strange how you nearly freeze to death when it is 76 degrees in the summer but would consider that temp absolutely heavenly when coming off the water in the winter? Or maybe we are just getting old. Say it ain't so!

Well, the main thing is you and the hubby were able to get out and enjoy some quality time together and caught over 20 bass while you were at it. Not a bad weekend for sure! Freezing to death at 76 degrees? Well, if your soaking wet and have a wind blowing, maybe, lol.

Bassin thanks for the share.
Good company means good times regardless of quantity of fish. For us fisherMEN size is more of a relative thing anyways!

KD - yes, the wind was howling and I was pretty damp. :-) The old Frog Togs that I got as hand-me-downs have seen better days. Time to invest in another rainsuit.

And time spent with your best friend of the past 3 decades is always time well spent. But shoot, it would have been a lot better if I had tied into a hawg! My PB is only 4 lbs. and I keep dreaming that the next trip out is going to produce that monster.

Hey Bama, any pics would have been a total embarassment! After Saturday's outing I was going to inform you that while you may be the King of Dinks, I am most certainly the Queen of Dinks! When I have a photo worthy fish, I will certainly post it. Until then, I'll just keep on dreaming.

I'll have to wait until the next trip. We didn't take any pics this past weekend. I didn't want to pull my phone out of the plastic baggie due to the rain. Can't afford to replace that sucker if it gets wet in the rain.

Thanks for the report, BG. Glad you were able to get out on the water with your hubby and catch a few, even if you didn't find that hawg you were looking for. Hope you stay dry next time out and are able to get some pics to share.

Thanks WB. It will be several weeks before I can go out again. Hopefully the fall frenzy will be in full swing and that hawg will be waiting for me!
