Bass and trout heaven
The wife and I have been killing them this spring in two different ponds we been fishing from early March to now. (VIN program) Both of us together have caught over 70 bass 11 to 14 3/4", and we have over 120 trout. We put the bass back, but the trout are in our freezer or given to our friends for dinner. The biggest trout is a hair over 11 3/4" and weighed in at .78lb, the others are about .58lbs. Been using rooster tails (yellow, red, white and pink), or Blue Fox Flash from Wal-Mart package of 5 for $6, and Beckley trout bait under a slip bobber set at about 4 to 5' deep. We had a little contest the other day, to see if we could catch 5 trout in an hour, it took her 1 1/2 hours for 5, it took me 56min.
Now I just hope we still do good on our lakes we fish for bass, crappie, and cats the rest of the year. |

Sounds like fun to me! I wonder what would happen if you tossed out a larger worm or something, or a trout swimbait for bigger bass.

No bass picture, and only a few trout. I'll try to up load a few.
The biggest bass I saw caught was 18 1/4", guy took it home from White Hall House pond, and the wife showed me one that was over 20, another guy caught, and put back. Lake Mingo the ones I caught (5) were 11 to 13". |
