Fishing Tikis

I just got back from a lake where I was fishing tiki sticks along the shore...

Id cast it in near shore it would first sink the the bottom and id have a little bit of slack that id watch

Just about every other cast the slack would bump once or twice like I was getting a hit... I tried waiting but they never took it. Then after that failed I tried setting the hook.. But nothing worked.... Im pretty sure it was just some little crappie or something messing with me but they wouldnt even take it when i used half the worm... just the same "bump, bump" id get every other time

Any Comments/Suggestions
