Default Caught on a Topwater This Morning!! (Pics)

Hey guys, went out this morning in the mist and rain and action was slow all morning, nothing hitting topwaters, and got this nice pig about mid-morning (8:30). She went 5-6 on my scale but she looks closer to six to me, what do you guys think??? Caught it at a local reservoir on a Strike King Spit-N-King, 6'6" Medium Quantum rod, BPS Rick Clunn Reel, and 12 lb. Berkley Big Game. This is the same place that my nine pounder came out of last year. Here are the pics...

Soild fish man! I really need to get me a goog popper, the only one I have, is a crummy BPS one that has on feather on the back hook. I Guess I could get a new hook for it, but the monkey would rather have a new popper, probably a Pop-R or SK Popper!

That's a pig, RRW. Nice fish. I can't imagine the blowup from that guy. As far as weight, I have no clue.

Boss, why are you thinking about a new hook? Most poppers have a feather or some embellishment on the rear treble hook.

NICE FISH! They always seem bigger don't they. I think my scale is broke because it doesn't say 10+ lbs everytime.

that is a good fish, i would have killed for her as a kicker on saturday. it's hard to guess the weight of a fish by pics but i would say your scale is really really close. great fish, and on topwater to boot.

Huh, we aint seen one bit of anything severe this far north JB. We had fifties and sixties for highs yesterday. It has been all drizzle and light rain for the past two days.

that must've been some rush when those hit topwaters... makes me want to chase that topwater bite right now.

In case anybody's wondeing, Cavs1123 (Tommy) was with me the past few weeks, i been showin' him the ropes of bass fishing... one thing he needs to work on is SETTIN' THE HOOK... but let me tell you something, he has more enthuiasm and passion toward this sport than i've ever seen out of anybody 12 years old. (I'm 17) here are a couple he has caught...

Awesome HAWG, there. Keep up the good work! And tell Tommy he's doin' just fine. The little ones fight better pound for pound anyways. (It's kinda sad I'm still tellin' myself that at 41 )
