Default Attitude of Gratitude

I read something recently that reminded me of this happy fact, "Most people are grateful because they're happy; wise people are happy because they are grateful."

After hearing this, I knew I just had to pass it along.

I'm gonna borrow that and put it into a line to give a lady friend I met the other day. Ya know. Something along the lines of, "You must tired cause..."

Woody...you are absolutely right, my friend. I was thinking about posting this, but your post settled the issue. It is sort of along the same lines...

I was re-reading a great book: "A River Runs Through It," by Norman Maclean. (Yes, they made a movie out of it, but the book is, as is typical, far, far superior without all of the Brad Pitt pretty-boy stuff.) In it he writes,

"Most of us probably would be better fisherman if we did not spend so much time watching and waiting for the world to become perfect."

In other words, accept the world you're given, be grateful for it, and enjoy it. I think this applies to more than fishing.
