Lure - I really like a 4" worm, either a cut tail or straight tail. Any "finesse" style bait can be effective, try your favorites.
Hook - I have regularly used a #1 octopus stlye hook, but have recently purchased the new VMC (?) hook that is free swinging on a piece of wire which should help with line twist. I use a 7'0" M/f spinning rod, 20# braid with about 4' of 6# flurocarbon leader and a tungsen drop shot weitht, but all that is just a matter of personal preference. |

We use 5" senkos and wacky-rig them on a dropshot. We catch a lot of bass this way, both Largemouth and Smallies, and many of them in the 3-4 pound range, which is a nice bass around here. We fish them horizontally, like Bassboogieman described, in up to 10 feet of water.
