Default Lake Gentry

Feb. 13th- Lake washington- Cold, rainy, water looked pretty clean. Mudfish outnumbered the bass today, along with 1-2 pickerel. Did catch a lot of juvenile bass 8-14 inch range. Slow to react, but did fight when hooked. Most came on white spinnerbait. Also used a white chatterbait today. First time using this thing today. Nice action, can see the multiple applications for this bait. Most fish hit on slow rolling with occasional drops. 3-4 hour day, rain and cold finally got the best of me.

Short and sweet. Valentines Day, the winds were howling, the lake had chop from 1-3 feet by days end. No place for a small 18 foot aluminum boat. Water- 58, tea stained, clarity was decent. Found a nice canal and got out of the above mentioned crap. Broke a trolling motor, fixed a trolling motor. 7 bass caught, 4-5 lost. Most were in the 1-3 pound range. Two lures used white 1/2 oz spinnerbait double willow, slow rolled or jigging it about 1-2 feet and dropping it back on bottom. The other kinda surprised me- Zoom horny toad- white. Throwing the shallow shoreline grass. Most times put it on bank and dropped it in, usually getting hit after splashdown. Did lose one around the 6-7 pound range because of a crappy knot. Bass hit- set hook- bass on top of grass- pulled again and watched my empty line blow in the wind. Bass actually sat there for a few seconds and realized he wasn't hooked. A little shaking and splashing, no more frog, no more fish. 3-4 hours of relaxation.
Actually having a little more free time to go play. Trying different areas here and there. Probably heading to Ansin Garcia or Blue Cypress next. If the wind will slow down, hopefully the Stick marsh. Also looking at Lk Lizzie, Toho, Kiss., and Martin. Will let ya'll know.
