Large Mouth Bass 6.7 lbs
Flathead 44 lbs
Channel Cat 13.5 lbs
Grass Carp 25 lbs
Walleye 8.5 lbs
Rainbow Trout 6.5 lbs
Spoonbill 55 lbs (biggest freshwater fish)

I caught a sting-ray in South Carolina that was as big as the hood of full size truck, I have no idea what it weighted but it was allot. Best fight on a rod and reel that I have ever experienced. I have also caught some fairly big sand sharks, no idea on weight, but I would guess in the 35-40 lb range.

I have caught a lot of fish. Freshwater, inshore, deep sea, pier fishing, river fishing from source to jetties. Species list would be very long. Personal best would be hard to say as I never documented anything until last year.

So my personal best since I started taking pics would be this bass I caught last summer. I don't know the weight, but he was big enough to snap my rod in half.

This is the biggest turtle I ever caught...

And a grass carp; my only so far...

Gosh, maybe I should start weighing the big uns. I have never bothered weighing big ones, even the one I caught last week. Am I missing something? Perhaps, so perhaps you folks can give me a best guess on my bass. Thanks!

LMB 7 lbs 1 ounce caught her this year!

SMB: No fear has me beat by .2 ounces

Largest fish I ever caught was not weighed, got it over the side of a charter boat, took the hook out and when we went to weigh it , washed over the other side by a huge swell; Striper off Montauk Pt, she was big, I am not going to guess

Redfish: 6 #

And a lot of 20 + blue fish, which takes no skill at all, just a skipper who knows how to lay out a good chum line

Default My .02 worth

My largest Large mouth 12lbs with a kid’s rubber gray rat from a dollar store 10 years ago. (The kind you get in variety pack of critters - kids toys not bait at all)I have a plastic version of the fish from a picture on my office wall. (Let it go and had the fake one made from the taxidermist)

A 6lb smallie this spring and actually got two in the same day.

My favorite three catches are: A 2 pounder on a black worm with my son’s spider man wal mart combo when he was a little tike. He cried cause it broke the little rod. That is was got me hooked on bass. Love it.

I had a Tim Horton special back to back in Missouri 14-15 years ago with a double hook up on a crank bait. (2 fish one bait) Both times they were 2 lb large mouths. We were lucky enough to have a video camera with us that my brother has just bought a few weeks before. That camera was the size of an office printer or something. (Big RCA top of the line for the day) We released the fish on my very next cast which was about 5 mins later as we had to rewind the video and watch it - we caught two more at the same time on the same crank bait, both my brother and I swear they were the same two fish we just let go. The old video is not as good as today’s but we spent hours over the years comparing those two fish and we have shown that video to anyone that ever wanted to see and they agreed that it was the same fish. Really.

The other is the one in the picture. A drum from jigging in Tampa a few weeks ago. You know the story and believe it or not but I caught this fish on 12 BPS fluorocarbon.
