Default Revo Fans

Here is something new for all of you Revo fans. Not sure if this will make it's way to the USDM, but I for one would be interested.

Not exactly, the picture makes it hard to see how they are designed, I will try to find a better pic for you. They are a centrifugal type brake and move away from the spool as speed increases and rub on the circular plate in the palm sideplate, what makes them look like the bend towards the spool is that they have small counter weights that are are attached and run parrallel to the main shaft.

Sorry that was the best explanation I can give, will try to find a better pic. This is the same braking system as the Revo MGX.

Thanks Tony,Tthat helps a lot...I was curious about the side plate as well...I have casting the MGX,or see any key advantages in the design?

The biggest advantage that I see is that it has allot of adjustability. With conventional type centrifugal braking you typically either have on or off and the spool speed controls how much. With this design you can move the contact surface in and out to control how much braking is applied and allows you to control the braking in very fine increments.

I cant say for sure, but looks like to me it would greatly reduce the spool weight as well. If you look at the spool in the picture it is a shallow, extremely ported spool, with the lightness of the braking it should cast light weights very well.

What's the price point? Nevermind, found one at $312.69, although currently not in stock.

Looks like a heck of a nice reel for sure. So how much are you getting from the monkey in the way of a kick back?
