Default Balancing Weight in a Jon boat

So I have this 12' job boat that has undergone modifications over the past year or so, including a casting deck with a seat and trolling motor. The big issue now is that when I move to the front of the boat to man the trolling motor the bow dips down and is real close to the surface of the water.

As a temporary fix, I put a couple 50# sand bags in the stern next to the engine. Do you guys have ideas for permanent solutions of evening out the weight while I'm up on the casting deck?

Here is the boat, just to give ya an idea: http://www.bassfishin.com/bassfishin...ghlight=jersey

Other than stashing your tackle in the stern, I havn't got anything. I fish from a 12 foot jon myself, and when I stand at the bow, it dips to where the stern comes up off the floor. So I do all my fishing from the center or the stern of the boat.

Like keith said there aren't a lot of options. A short narrow flat bottom boat can only cope with so much. If you're going to keep this boat for any lenth of time you may have to consider a pedestal setup in the front instead of a raised deck.

Adding 100# of sand is really taking on a lot for a jon boat.

Are your batteries in the stern? If not, you might move them aft.
