Me and some of my family are taking a trip to florida and I am from kentucky. I was wandering if anyone had some advice on things to use in florida the week after Christmas. Any help is appreciated.

i have fished florida several times before, around the orlando area, in the winter, and my best luck was with spinnerbaits, and plastic lizards.

oh yeah and also, if you are going to orlando, they have a bass pro shops there and you could ask some people there what works and what doesn't in the winter in florida!

this time of year, and that time as well, SHINERS, use a variety of sizes either tight to cover or in deep water, if you're on a reservoir, they'll be in the moving water, the big ones will be in the moving deep moving water.

Ive heard rumours about some of the guys in Florida using live mice for bass fishing. I dont know.....maybe they dye them chartreuse and hook a rattle to them.

The list pretty much covers what to have. Go heavy on the rattle traps and the Senkos.

Wow that link with the list gave just about every lure that i love to use around here, other than hard jerkbaits, I don't use those too much. One of my favorite things for winter in fl are small 3"-5" creature baits, in watermelonseed or junebug. Use a light weight around cover like downed trees or brush piles and some days when I haven't been able to catch them on anything else, I've caught them using this method.
