New rods.

On Tuesday I bought a new 7' one piece Cherrywood spinning rod to use for soft plastics, mostly worming. I only used it one time and failed to land the only bass that bit. I was however very pleased with the rods action and it was quite sensitive.

However I mentioned to my sister that there was a rod at Dick's I saw yesterday and really wanted, and she said, well lets go get it then. Next thing I know I have a 6' one piece medium action Berkley Amp rod!

I used the Amp tonight and I really like it. It may be the most sensitive rod I have ever used. It has a very fast tip, and I love the short handle it has on it. It is also a very light rod, which cuts down on fatigue. I didn't manage to land a fish with it this time, but the two that struck were tiny.

Don't know what I will do with the Cherrywood. I may return it, but maybe not. I dunno yet.

Oh I didn't even mention the new Quantum spinning reel, head lamp, and all the soft plastics I bought...

hahaha! I've been so focused on getting my arsenal built that I haven't bought any lures in a long time... maybe a trip to BPS is in order!

Picked up another Amp rod tonight. It is identical to the first one, just in the casting version.

Good for you man. I got a lightning shock casting rod and ive been pleased with it, seems like berkley makes halfway descent rods.

You'd think it would work that way, but with all the sale links and coupon codes I've posted this year, he's still after me. It's only a matter of time, and saying stuff like that really makes him mad!

You've gone from Ugly Stiks to St. Croix pretty quickly, you are in trouble my friend! Just wait until your monkey gets his hands on a high end baitcaster.

I was thinking the exact same thing. It's very easy to go up in quality/performance, but very hard to go backwards!
