Default My custom spinnerbaits

A while back I made a post about looking for custom spinnerbaits. I ended up just ordering the stuff to make them myself because what I was looking for was very hard to find. I wanted fairly heavy spinnerbaits with a big single willow leaf blade. These spinnerbaits are going to be very technique specific, because of the heavy weights and the large single blade they are obviously not designed to chunk wind all day long. I wanted the spinnerbaits for 2 things. 1. to slow roll, the heavy weights will help keep bottom contact and the large willow leaf blade will provide a lot of flash and move some water without giving much lift to the bait. 2. I also will be using these spinnerbaits to flip and pitch around shallow brush and willow trees which is a great way to catch big fish here on Grand Lake when the water is up. Most guys will flip and pitch jigs and soft plastics which I do as well but a lot of the times you can catch bigger fish by flipping and pitching spinnerbaits because you are getting a lot of flash and vibration into areas where the fish usually don't see it, this works best when you find schools of baitfish in the area. Anyways here are some blades out of my first batch. Half of them will be 1/2oz and the other half will be 3/4oz. The ones in the picture have a #5 blade on them and I have some #7's on the way. I will be making about 30 of these total and dividing them between the 2 colors you see here. I wanted the shad color for when the water starts to clear up and the chartruese for when the water is muddy. Let me know what you think.

Looks good C-Rig. Will be seeing these in the 2011 line up? You should sell them real cheap.

Thanks for the compliments guys. No we aren't planning on selling spinnerbaits anytime soon. These I made just for my personal use.

Yeah, I haven't figured up how much I have invested in each spinnerbait but I promise you it is a lot less than what I pay for the ones I buy.

*Edit*
I just figured it up and it cost me $2.84 per spinnerbait not counting what I had to pay in shipping to get it here. Of course it's hard to get an exact number because I will have a few blades, swivels, and a little skirt material left over but it is way cheaper than what I would have paid if I could have found spinnerbaits like this somewhere else.

Yep, you'd hafta figure out a number that corrsponded with the amounts of each part, figure the shipping, then figure it.
If it was free shipping it'd be easy.

What's important, is how they look in a bass's mouth

Nice job, C-rig!

I sat down a couple of years ago and figured out how much the spinnerbaits I make cost me. It came out to just a little over $3, and I get EXACTLY what I want. Very easy to make, too.

Nice baits, what kind of heads are those on them, and did you pour the lead yourself? If so, you mind telling us about where you got the mold or what mold it is, who makes it? Good pic too.

Thanks guys. I didn't pour the heads myself, I have the melting pot and all but to save time and for no more than I was going to be making it just seem wiser to order the heads pre-poured. I bought the heads and some of the blades from www.fishingskirts.com, the rest of the blades I bought off of ebay.
