this is jsut ONE of the things that TRULY made this event for me folks. this was the first time mrs. dickerson had been fishing since she was 13 years old. and this is her FIRST largemouth bass EVER! i took her out, just me and her, friday morning. it was warming up fast friday. we went to wheeler, i though the fish would move up cuz it was getting warm again. we fished from 5:30 am ( i think) till round 12 pm (noon).
anyway, when we first started we were way up in the shallows fishing the lizzard of course. nothing. so i rigged up a fly rod and let her fish it for some gills while i tried some other stuff to see if i could figure out something. well out of dispair and really just throwing ANYTHING i could rig up, i put on a shallow running crawdad painted crankbait. runs 2-4 ft. dark craw color. there was a tree laying down about 25 yards from shore in 3 ft of water. the root was dug in and the top was out. i thew the crank across the root, bam. dink bass. thew again.bang another dink bass. postioned the boat so we could trhow alongside the tree, rigged up another crank like mine to her rod. showed her where to throw it. she missed 1. then she got her cranks tangled up. i thew mine out, told her to crank it along the side while i got hers straightened out. then i saw her jerk on the rod. she thought she hung up on the tree at first. then she said it was loose. started to reel in when the crank went towards deeper water. i said YOU GOT IT, YOU GOT MRS DICKERSON!! jumping up and down (litterly, lol) on the back of the cajun while she was bringing in that bass. she got it to the boat like a pro gang. i lipped it up outta the water, hugged her. and took this picture with her camera and then my phone. it made her trip i do believe. it made mine so much more enjoyable i tell you that. i am proud to say that everyone in my rig except for zookers sister crystal caught a bass. which is really good for me, hahaha. i pulled 2 keepers off that tree and had 10 total bass off of it. which is better than anyone else i think. i forgot to add that mrs. dickerson caught a little gill off the flyrod before she got the bass. i'll send my cell pics ot ron, danile anthony so they can post them for me. it was a fantastic time gang.

I think the fact that she caught her first bass fishing with you John was perfect. I just know Zooker was watching and was VERY pleased!
